Do You Know?

Most of us know the fundamental idea behind energy: that it transfers from thing to thing and place to place invisibly, always turning in to something new and never disappearing out of sight for long. But what most people don’t know (me included) is that motors waste tons of the stuff. And according to the guys and girls at Enigin there are a lot of motors in the world doing just that. Enough that loosing this much energy is actually quite a big deal, when you stop and think about it.

The link you want to click to find out more and to see the article is this one.

In the aforementioned article you’ll find a good explanation of how motors and energy work together. It’s something that everyone should read. And it might even get you thinking about how you can do your bit.

Because the thing is this: motors (say Enigin) are all around us. They’re in supermarkets and cars and homes and even in toys. So when we all just walk on by and don’t consider how much energy they are wasting then there isn’t much hope for the future. But, I know. You’re asking What can I do personally?

Well, it’s easy, you can go to the above link (why haven’t you yet?) and read all about what Enigin are doing to solve this problem as best they can. OK, they might not be able to solve it, but at least they are giving it some thought. In my book that counts for something.
